It is believed billions of computers in the world use pirated software and operating systems. In a recent survey conducted by a Business Software Alliance showed shocking results that revealed 47 percent of the PC’s in the world uses pirated or illegal software. However, the users believing to save money using the pirated software believe its not wrong using them.

This is mostly done by using software with license and installing it in multiple systems in the network. The survey also revealed Chinese users have easy access to the pirated software. China has the world’s largest market using pirated versions of software. Indeed, 80 percent of the nation uses pirated versions instead of original software.

The survey resulted in showing Chinese users are less aware of the piracy and uses pirated versions without knowing its consequences. It is believed software industry loses more than $59 billion every year due to piracy.

However, China does not lead the race in usage of pirated software. They are currently on the second place behind the United States. In US, alone $7.78 billion worth of stolen software was installed last year. This is a great loss to the software industry worldwide. The number of users with pirated software increase every year.
