It is always frustrating to recover corrupted files when you do not have enough time to do so. Microsoft word has always been a reliable program to saving important documents. However, losing valuable files has been a common problem right now since there are continuous updates done wherein using the old version are not compatible with the new ones anymore.

Here are the few steps you may do to recover Word files:

• Use the built-in features of Word. Launch the program and click on the File or the Office Logo. Then click “Open”.
• Navigate the corrupted document to recover files. Click on it.
• An “Open” button that has a black arrow will then appear on the screen. Click on the arrow and then, click “Open and Repair”.
• Wait for a few minutes or longer while the Word is attempting to recover Word files. If this process works, it means you’ve already recovered your files successfully.

If the process above didn’t work, here’s another helpful tips to recover files.

• Look for the free Word Repair Tool over the Internet. Download and Install the program and launch it afterwards.
• Click on the button that says “Repair/Open”. Navigate the corrupted Word document and click it twice. The content of the file will appear on the main portion of the window.
• Click on the “Save” button. The file will then be saved as a Rich Text File. Take note that this process will recover files but won’t be able to save it in the same format. Which means the saved clip arts, font styles and other extra features of Word will be lost.
• When you’ve recover Word files successfully, the document can then be opened with the same Word program.
