A ransom-AN Trojan has been threatening Windows users for quite some time claiming their computer runs on unlicensed copy of Windows. The Trojan threatens users to pay a sum of €100 in order to unlock the code and use the system as usual as always. This has been mainly targeting windows users across the world in recent time. The Trojan mainly threatens to cripple the victims computer if the payment is not made for the unlock code. The virus gives credit card options for the users to make the payment for the code.

The malware virus indeed spooks windows users to make the payment within 48 hours in order to be trouble free. Otherwise it will take necessary initiatives to launch criminal prosecution if the payment for the unlock code is not paid within the given 48 hours. The main worry for the targeted users is the malware says that the data in the systems will be permanently lost if the payment is not made in time.

Until date, the Trojan is targeted on German users. A Spanish net security firm, Panda Software has stated removing the Trojan manually from the system will not be an easy task. It is believed these Trojans are very powerful and cannot be removed manually not until the systems are reformatted.

It’s time to check your Windows with ESET Nod32.
